Hi All,

I might be being a tad thick here but can the Sapphire Decoder be wired for sound? I have searched installation guuides and Google but have failed dismally. I'm beginning to think that the reason I can't find anything is because it can't be done.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

No it can't be wired integrally for sound.

.

For clarity, you need a special 'Sound' equipped decoder. A sound decoder has all the sound circuitry built in to it and is combined with the motor control on the same printed circuit board. Sound capability is not a separate physical entity that you wire into an existing decoder. In the current Hornby product range the only integrated sound decoder is the TTS decoder. Prior to TTS, Hornby ''bought in'' Loksound Sound Decoders (which are still used by Bachmann). However, there are many other non Hornby brands with sound equipped decoders in their product ranges as well. ZIMO for example.
