Cloggie
Have three of these shunters and they say DCC ready. Is it possible to get them to take a sound decoder and if so which one is recommended. regrads Bry
96RAF
Compare service sheets 278 (8 pin DCC) and 363 (21 pin Sound) and have a look at where things were put, and there is going to be a TTS version (8 pin Sound) which will be a mix and match of those two. walkingthedog
And they'll need space for a speaker.
Fishmanoz
I believe the Class 08 comes in a sound version from Hornby so there would seem to be room for decoder and speaker, must be a squeeze though.
Chrissaf
I have a Hornby 08 Shunter R2902XS with a factory fitted 21 pin Loksound V3.5 decoder and speaker. I can confirm that internally, the space inside the body is completely maxed out with every cubic mm being used. The tiny custom speaker is mounted vertically just behind the shunter front radiator grill.
