Nictor
Anyone know if they are identical? I want to swap a body shell from a Lima maroon parcel car to a hornby one that has a damaged body but DCC ready unit? Don't want to mess about too much. The Doc
I don't own this model but I've got a few of the Hornby ex-Lima diesels and in each case the body is identical to the previous Lima version, only the motor bogie has been altered, so the bodies should be a direct swap. Jimbo1707820979
Hi NictorI have already done a similar swap and there was no problem at all. Very easy.
Mahoganydog
Hi Nictor, I've just done the exact thing you have. Direct fit with zero alterations required. I do however advise that you re-use the old Lima body screws and try and start them in the original thread. Remember, you're working with plastic that could be thirty years old on the Lima body and it could be fragile. Oh, and don't forget to pull the buffers out before trying to remove the body. These go through the body and into the chassis. I would hate to guess how many have broken the bodies over the years by missing this and trying to force it to come off! Nictor
Many thanks all. T'was as I suspected. DCC chipped a hornby one so I know about the buffers. They are a tad fragile so I bought a spare set.
