Forum-1211528
i have fitted a Tri-ang B12 with a DCC CONCEPTS 6 pin chip this seems to work with the XO4 motor inside this loco so i might convert other Tri-ang locos to DCC what locos have you converted or are considering converting? 96RAF
ColinThe decoder spec says 750mA to 1A so should be able to handle an X04 motor OK.Let us know if it handles the load in normal layout service.Rob

96RAF
Thanks for the feedback Colin.Sounds like that decoder is a good 'un for the older locos.Rob

RDS
I have previously fitted DCC to a split frame Loco. It wasn't easy and required a lot of careful insulating but it worked. I can't remember which Loco it was, other than I think it was a Bachmann and I don't have it any longer.
The son of Triangman
I've chipped loads of Tri-ang locos, ideally the decoder should be able to handle a stall current of 1 Amp.Hattons do a nice inexpensive decoder capable of taking up to 1 Amp for around £12 and it's ideal for the job.DCC Fitted Tri-ang Hymek /media/tinymce_upload/3ca09a2ba48bb717d490e6cccc67c434.jpg

I have done quite a few Bachmann and mainline locos including a Mainline 03. There is plenty of information on the web including this usefull site Bromsgrove Models. https://clarahost.clara.net/www.bromsgrovemodels.co.uk/mainline03dccinstr.htm
