Fitting decoder

I have an old Hornby loco R018010. It is called Henry V111 and it is tender driven Was running OK with DC . Since I have a DCC lay out would like to fit a Hornby decoder.

On opening the tender there are only two wires.A red one going to the left front wheel and the black wire is fixed to the motor.Can anyone suggest how to fit the decoder

I think you may have R349.

 

Have a look here at the picture bottom right to see if your wires are similar.

Then have a look at Brian Lamberts site for dcc ringfield conversion. Probably type 5 or 6 ringfield motor.
