Chrissaf
"I have to say i have alot of TRI-ANG locos from the fifties and sixties that have X04 motors i wouldnt want DCC chips in these as i love running these classics and this DCC lark is a yank idea as they want you to DCC everything well early Tri-ang locos cant be done and i wont fit chips to them and if i buy a Hornby loco that has a DCC chip inside i remove it as i say stuff DCC!" Chrissaf
I have converted my Tri-ang Hiawatha Americian loco to DCC this is now fitted with a DCC CONCEPTS chip it has an X04 motor and the big headlight on the front so you can now turn off the headlight on the loco now its DCC fitted as its best to either use DCC CONCEPTS or GAUGEMASTER dcc chips for Triang locos but this loco is running so well on DCC its running with modern locos too so get your HIAWATHA fitted with a dcc chip you will be glad that you did fit it with a high capacity chip as normal chips are not suitable for X04 motors!
