R070 turntable

The Owl

Recommended Posts

Hi, Recently bought the R070 electric turntable and had the supplier fit a decoder so I can run from my Select controller. It goes quite well except;

Is this turntable designed to turn through a complete 360 and keep going? The suppleir said NO and it will only go so far round and then stop and then its difficult to get it to go back.

Any thoughts anyone?

The Hornby TT will rotate in a full circle of 360 degrees, but it does pause at each exit position then commences on again but only all the while power is being fed to the motor.

Your DCC decoder should be providing the power feed to the TT motor continuously for full rotation. Turning down the speed knob on the DCC console will cause the TT to slow and at 0 speed steps stop turning.  Reversing the direction of turn should be via the DCC consoles direction of travel switch and the speed knob turned up, all of course with the correct address number being present while operating and controlling the TT.

So to rotate TT, set correct address number, set direction required on console and turn up speed knob, TT turns, when it reaches the required exit position it momentarily pauses and during this pause you need to turn off the speed controller.

And don't forget it needs modification to not cause shorts to the DCC track signal as it rotates. Do a forum search on R070, turntable and TT to see the lengthy discussion over many topics over a number of years on the many ways of achieving this.
