Hornby select problems

hello,

 i think my hornby dcc select is casing a lot of problems. it is  a yaer old now and only 2 of my 7 locomotives are working. the ones that work, work very well but my other locos have recntly stoped working, at frist i thought it was a problem with the locomtivse but i tried running them on DC and they worked fine even though they are dcc fited.

any help would be great.

The only thing you can do with a Select is to reset the unit by following the instructions in the manual.

 

I would suggest resetting the locos but the Select cannot do this, so all you can really do is check the loco wheels are clean, no fluff in the wheel pickups or black grunge on the wheel rims.

 

If you have a friend with a more capable controller maybe you could ask them to reset your loco decoders, but you will have to readdress them to their previous numbers. Having said that do any of these failed locos run on address three, if so just give them back their old address. Locos can lose their ID if they have shorted over points or at a derail.
