Train3
I have started using the hornby select controller and found the trains run much slower than on the Hornby Standard controller (analogue) on full speed. Is there a way to increase the speed on the Hornby Select. I am currently using a 1amp transformer. Thanks
Rog RJ
What you are experiencing is normal. Trains normally run far too fast on the old controllers while DCC controllers generally give a more realistic speed.
Chrissaf
More feature rich DCC controllers can change DCC decoder CVs (Configuration Variables) to affect some aspects of loco control. Unfortunately, the Hornby Select is very basic and can not do any of these more advanced CV configuration functions..However as Rog says. In general DCC locos do in the main run slower than DC locos. This is perfectly normal, and for most serious modellers a desirable feature..Note that the amperage of the power supply is completely irrelevant. They will run at exactly the same speed using the Hornby 4 amp power supply as well.
