You are completely right to research as much as you can before making any financial commitments.

.

Here are some further reading Internet resources for DCC in no particular order (all links open in a new tab or Window).

.

  1. https://sites.google.com/site/markgurries/home
  2. http://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/
  3. http://www.digitrains.co.uk/dcc-guide/
  4. http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/nswmn/dcc_articles.htm
  5. http://www.wiringfordcc.com/wirefordcc_toc.htm

.

Note however that some of these websites are USA (1) & (5), what they do in the 'States' can be somewhat different to UK wiring and control practices (2) & (3), so treat the information accordingly. Web site (4) is Australian. Brian Lambert's website (2) is the most appropriate for DCC information in a UK wiring environment. Brian is a contributing member on this forum.

.

If you want a really basic introduction to the differences between Analogue DC and Digital DCC, then download and review my own PDF from the link at the top of the "General Discussion" sub-forum entitled "Getting Started with Track Expansion Packs". There is a lot more in my document than just track pack information.
