Hi Everyone,
I started to pin some of the track on my perniment layout down last night. I think it will be finished soon, maybe over the weekend.

Hi Everyone,
I have finished today ( appart from a few ssections that I added after the pinning had taken place).
I'll see if I can upload photographs soon, I might just post them on another forum and then put a link to them or something like that

anyway.
I'll probly do that tommorow.

I agree dalekcann, it's a shame you can't post on here. All the other forums that I know have the feature where you can upload pictures.
Oh well, at least you can post on the other forums and then just post a link to them on here.

Photos on any forum need to be in .jpg format and usually the largest dimension should not exceed 600 pixels. Some forums do not allow hosting on their pages and you have to link to the image on your photobucket account using the IMG tag.

Hi Pollis,
I'll have a look at the size of the pixels. I am trying to upload them onto the new modelers shop forum and the Free track plans.com forum via an attatchment. I have not got a photobucket acount, do you recomend I get one?
Thanks for the

help

Hi again Pollis,
I checked the number of pixels and it said on one bit that the width was 4000 pixels and the height 3000 pixels and the other bit said the compressed bits was 4 pixels. I think it was 4 pixels so I'm not sure why it would not up load

At 4000 by 3000 pixels it's far too big for many forums. As Poliss has said, you need to reduce the size from 4000 by 3000 down to something like 800 by 600.

Photo hosting sites such as photobucket, flickr and imageshack allow much bigger pictures

to be uploaded but you can quickly run out of storage space if you only choose a free account, so it's best to reduce the size before uploading them.

Pictures can be re-sized in Windows paint (I think) or any of the other image editing programs such

as Paint Shop Pro (which you have to buy) or irfanview which is free to download.

Any news yet Jacob ? I cant wait to see your layout. I am in the same boat as you. I am about to build my first layout - home based.

The build should start around February when the room and finances for a baseboard (9' x 9') become available. I

have got all of the track and some buildings. I am just getting the electrical side sorted (it is a DCC layout with the point motors, uncoupling ramps and signals all controlled via a seperate analogue power source).

Sorry about the wait everyone, I'm of school on Friday for a teacher traning day so I'll try then.
When I went to upload them the pictures were not in the file a created :(

It turns out the pictures were actually in their it was just that I needed to change the settings on the file!

So then onto the pictures well just follow these three links to look at them

This

first picture is taken from the corner of the board. It shows the large goods yard and the of Scene area which is not yet actually of scene.

This imige was tacken from the controll area.

It shows the Leval crossing and the goods yard. Their is a great veiw of the Flying Scotsman and Evening Star.

Unfortunatly, the last one was too big to upload but strangley it was the same size as the others and on the same settings as the others.

Oh well, at least we have two pictures!

That looks good. I admire you for your sensible planning - I have two tables with simple loops made when I was young and have simply stuck them together; it doesn't work that well. Good luck with the scenery.
