Euchlides
Has anyone else noticed?Only two of the Hornby Maunsell coach range have failed to appear in the Maunsell lined olive green livery. They are the high window corridor composite and the high window brake composite. These are two of the most useful coaches in the range, allowing many prototypical formations to be assembled even if not necessarily absolutely accurate in terms of particular versions of these coaches.Surely someone at Hornby can see the sense of filling this gap. After all, it's only a livery adjustment, there's no tooling required. The existing high window coaches in the Maunsell lined olive green livery pretty much restrict the formation to one particular type of set. Not much use to anyone except those interested in one type of train heading for the South Coast.Come on, Hornby, fill the gap, please!
LCDR
Most of the 'Restriction 4' High Window Corridor Brake Composites built were allocated as 'loose' stock before 1950s. Many were being used on 'Continental' or on inter-Regional services, or Special traffic. Similarly the full corridor thirds, corridor firsts and open thirds were mainly loose. However most of the corridor third brakes and corridor composites were marshalled into semi permanent numbered sets for programmed carriage working. According to Ramsey's guide coach pack R2813 [which I didn't buy] contained HW TK 1225 & 1226, and BTK 3792 and pack R4378 HW TK 1227, 3793 & FK 7230. so unfortunately no HW CK or BCK in lined Maunsell Green,. The BR 1957 version in BR(S) green (R2815 / R4379) [which I do have] did contain brake composites S6571S and S 6574S and both LW. The rest of R2815 includes SK S771S plus CK S5636S and R4379 contains SK S787S and CK S5634S, all LW.
