Spireblade
A minor problem, but having just rebuilt my railway and giving it a test run with 2 new locos, occasionally they are cutting out and restarting TOGETHER. I am running RM through an Elite, 2 locos and 8 Train Tech LED signals. Track and signals all connected to a buss wire. Am I drawing too much current? The decoders are Gaugemaster DCC26 in each loco if that helps. Cheers
Chrissaf
Track and signals all connected to a BUS wire..I would be checking all the joints on your DCC BUS wiring. Both locos cutting out together indicates a general track power problem rather than a decoder one. It could be an intermittent short but if it was, one would expect to be able to hear it as a buzzing noise. If it was a more long lived short, then the Elite would trip. Chances are that as the locos auto restart and the Elite doesn't trip, the issue is more likely to be a break in the power rather than a short..Am I drawing too much current?.Only two locos and eight signals is unlikely to draw anything remotely close to 4 amps (Elite power supply), so I doubt that is the problem.
