Hairos
Does anyone know when the Rory Butcher btcc car is going to be released? Dan
woodcote
Both of them looked pretty good on the Scalextric track at Brands Hatch last weekend. We definitely need a third MG6 to keep pace with the Passatt releases and start to catch up with all the BMWs and Civics. Apparently the two MG6s were 'one-offs' specially produced for the RCIB Insurance competition, but I'd certainly buy one if they make it into the 2019 Scalextric catalogue. Can't get enough new BTCC liveries...
Hairos
Ah that's a shame. I seen it on Rory's instagram page and got all excited! Yeah I would of loved a go on that track. Are you're bmws tail happy? I cannot control Turkingtons very well at all.
woodcote
Running with the magnet fitted, the BMWs are tail-happy - certainly more than the Civics. Without magnets the BMWs and Civics are pretty similar in performance with the Passatts and MG6s quite evenly matched, but a little slower than the other two (they are heavier). The longer wheel-base of the MGs and VWs is an advantage on longer, faster layouts, but a disadvantage on really twisty tracks, where the Civics run best... A bit like the real thing. There was a thread on here looking at equalising the downforce on the BTCC cars with my suggested fix on pages 2 & 3: https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/need-help-with-new-car/?p=1 And I wrote up the BTCC-style simulations we use at our club, adapted for ARC Pro: https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/btcc-simulation-with-arc-pro/ There's some recent action - including 3 BTCC races - from the club here:
Hairos
That looks quality that! I need to be joining one of these clubs. Whats the blue car that Gary geezer is racing at the end there?Dont think I'd be staying on the track that well without a magnet mind.
woodcote
Gary turned a BMW into Aiden Moffat's Mercedes. This is how he did it: https://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=181786 There are also some nice re-liveries out there, including this Norlin Racing Civic: https://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=184705
