Btcc car

Both of them looked pretty good on the Scalextric track at Brands Hatch last weekend. We definitely need a third MG6 to keep pace with the Passatt releases and start to catch up with all the BMWs and Civics.

Apparently the two MG6s were 'one-offs' specially produced for the RCIB Insurance competition, but I'd certainly buy one if they make it into the 2019 Scalextric catalogue. Can't get enough new BTCC liveries...

Running with the magnet fitted, the BMWs are tail-happy - certainly more than the Civics. Without magnets the BMWs and Civics are pretty similar in performance with the Passatts and MG6s quite evenly matched, but a little slower than the other two (they are heavier). The longer wheel-base of the MGs and VWs is an advantage on longer, faster layouts, but a disadvantage on really twisty tracks, where the Civics run best... A bit like the real thing.

There was a thread on here looking at equalising the downforce on the BTCC cars with my suggested fix on pages 2 & 3: https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/need-help-with-new-car/?p=1

And I wrote up the BTCC-style simulations we use at our club, adapted for ARC Pro: https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/btcc-simulation-with-arc-pro/

There's some recent action - including 3 BTCC races - from the club here:
