Spare parts

Hi Martin. I think 'super-resistant' is a bit of a misnomer with those F1 cars... The front and rear wings certainly make them more fragile than others in the Super Resistant range. However, they do have fewer small parts to break off than the high-detail F1 cars. They are good-for-racing F1 cars.

Scalextric don't produce spares at the moment. The choice you have is to buy a new car or to repair the damage. Depending on the damage, I'd use either a good quality super glue gel or a flexible glue like Shoe Goo or E6000. Go for the small tubes (approx 5.5ml). If the break is very clean, the super glue gel will give an excellent repair and set quickly. If the wing is more mangled, the flexible glue will be best, but the join will need to be supported securely while the glue is setting. It might be necessary to glue some thin plastic sheet (eg from packaging) to create a strong join - that might be more robust that the original.

I hope Fernando is back on track very soon.
