Parts kit?

Hi Daryl. I don’t remember sets of standard spare parts being sold like this. However, you might be remembering the Sport+ (or Sport Plus) range of upgrades - axles, gears, wheels, tyres, motors, wire, screws etc etc. These were high quality upgrade parts that were sold individually or in complete kits. It was a great idea, except the basis for the range was a 3mm diameter axle which was incompatible with standard Scalextric parts and most other 1/32 slot cars and parts. That meant you had to buy into the entire system, replacing most of the parts in your car. Some people did, many didn’t - and Scalextric discontinued the range.

You can still find individual Sport+ parts at some retailers and some may have a wide range of those upgrade parts in stock. The 2019 alternative would be to use parts from Slot.it, who also produce 3D printed chassis for most of the current Scalextric range of cars. Parts from other manufacturers like NSR can also be used and 3D printed chassis from other designers are available on Shapeways. You can also find 3D printed replacement rear wings for Scalextric/Superslot cars and adapters to use other makes of guides. Search Scalextric and Superslot on Shapeways and see what’s available.

I hope that helps.
