will_buckley
Just converted 2 F1 cars to digital with the Scalextric digital plug-ins. One car works fine but the other is ok for about three minutes. The car will go round the track ok but the digital bits stop working - i.e. lane changing and going in and out of the pit-stop. Leave car for 15 mins or so and it will work again digitally - for about 3 minutes and then stop. Now - could this be a dry joint breaking down under heat? Any advice please. I mean I can probably just get the plug replaced by Hornby as it is only a day old. Glad of advice just the same.
woodcote
Hi Will - welcome to the forum! That lane change problem would almost certainly be a fault will the LED emitter circuit - only appearing as the board gets warm, as you suggest. Very annoying! I would agree that a replacement from the vendor as the best solution for such a new chip. If it was an older chip that had developed a fault, there is an enthusiast called Greg who does spectacular chip repairs.
