No connection after update

Recommended Posts

My Railmaster system has been running with no problems, but after updating I can’t get it to work at all.

It initialises the DCC controller but it is still not connected and nothing works.  It doesn’t say it can’t connect, but on completion it doesn’t set the points and nothing works.

When I connect the e link there is normally a ‘beep’ from the computer but now there is nothing.

I’ve checked the com ports and everything seems fine.

Any help would be appreciated

Info that you have not provided that would have helped includes:

.

  1. What installed RailMaster version was the last good working one?
  2. What updated RailMaster version has now stopped working?

.

Remember we are not mind readers.....we can only work on the info you give us in your post. The description of your symptoms is indicative of the issues of many forum members experienced when upgraded from the 1.69.2 release to the 1.7x release. If your last working release was 1.69.2, then you need to follow my guidance in the middle link below. Elite and eLink use the same driver, so there is some commonality with loss of communication issue for both controllers. So any references to Elite in my linked posts below are potentially applicable to your eLink as well.

.

In the absence of the info above, then read these three previous threads. Following the guidance in them will help to get your system back up and running. Almost certainly a case of modifying your 'railmaster.ini. file to make your system compatible again with your controller.

.

As you have an eLink, pay special attention to the recommendation to change the 'Reset eLink on Start' entry in the 'railmaster.ini' file.

Post bumped as you didn't give me time to finish editing my reply. There is additional info in it that you may not have seen during your last forum page visit.
