Stu60009
Hi everyone I recently Purchased an r3503 with R8106 TTS SOUND DECODER for the meantime I need to run it on my analogue layout. Would I need a blanking plug or will it just run on the dc or isit a "simple case" of unplugging the chip. any help would be greatly appreciated
Johnde
As long as your not using an electronic track cleaner or similiar device a TTS fitted loco should run on a DC powered track. Dont expect any sounds from it..If your not sure then unplug the TTS decoder and fit a blanking plug in place, having no plug in place your loco will not run.If in doubt take the decoder out and you must then fit a blanking plug into the socket.Hope this helps. ff2nd
R3503TTS does NOT have DC running turned on in the decoder. You will need to contact Hornby Customer Services, and ask for the right blanking plate for your loco. (There are several types now, with varying diode arrangements.)
