null_null981707818430
Is the 2019 all new micro track compatable with the previous track. Can they be linked using a compatable piece of track like what's possible with the 1.32 system. Derek
woodcote
Hi Derek - welcome to the forum! The short answer is no, the new and old track systems are not compatible. The new Micro Scalextric range has been designed from the bottom up to give a vastly improved experience for young Scalextric racers. Hence the flat rails, the 9 volt power, the new chassis and motors etc. Having had a good play with the new system (https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/new-micro-scalextric-track-system/?p=1) I think Scalextric have done a great job. For more experienced Micro Scalextric users, there are certainly ways and means to mix up the two systems. The geometry of the new and old track is similar, so the slots and rails will line up - a cut & shut of two pieces with the transition from vertical rails to horizontal rails covered by copper tape might work? Personally, I would stick with one system and my preference would be the new one. I hope that helps.
