jtc,

Welcome with your first post.

.

It would have been a little bit more helpful if you had described what aspect of using your R8247 decoder with the Elite you are struggling with.

.

For example, your difficulty could be with any aspect of the following....either:

.

  • Configuring the R8247 operating firmware.....setting DCC addresses etc. Particularly if using multiple R8247s.
  • Wiring the R8247 to your point motors.
  • Connecting the R8247 decoders to your Elite.
  • How to use your Elite to select the point addresses and operate the points.
  • The point just doesn't operate either correctly or reliably.
  • Or something else altogether.

.

Now if you could give us a clue as to what you are struggling with, then we can give you targeted advice.

.

Please do include in your next reply:

.

  1. What track you are using.....is it Hornby?
  2. What point motors you are using......brand and model number?
  3. How many R8247 decoders have you got?
  4. What aspect of using a R8247, exactly you are struggling with?

.

In the meantime, here are a selection of existing threads devoted to different aspects of the R8247 decoder. One of these might answer your query if we knew what it was.
