paul_garwood
Please, how do I return a loco back to its default settings after using the Sapphire decoders auto route settings?
Chrissaf
Writing 8 to CV8 will do a full factory default reset.....so be aware that this will also revert any address you set back to 003 as well as any other CV configurations that do not relate the to Sapphire 'Program' settings..Auto route?? - I don't think that is an official term used in the Sapphire, so I assume you mean an 'Event' based program..If you only want to reset an 'Event' based program you have configured then you would have to set all CVs between 121 and 140 to a value of zero. Which of course would be quite laborious.
paul_garwood
If I write 8 to CV8 on a sound decoder would this destroy the sound files?
Chrissaf
No..Caveat.It would, if the seller that loaded the sound files onto the decoder omitted to 'lock' the files. So technically it is possible. But in reality, the sound files would be locked against being edited by the company/person who loaded them. Locking the sound files after loading them is the industry standard norm..But the Sapphire of your original query is not a sound decoder. So I assume this follow up question is moving the goal posts.
