Demo queries / issues

Hi,
I have just downloaded the demo and have done a bit of track planning in it.
I don't have a layout yet but am hoping to start one soon and am looking around for the control system that would most suit me.
Just a couple of simple queries;

1)

is there a way to turn off the beeping when clicking buttons etc?
2) When i go in to the settings, or whenever a dialog box appears, there is no text, just tick boxes, or the main tick and cross; where is all the text to tell me what the tick boxes are

for etc?
