poliss
I'd say the conservatory. No chance of falling off the loft ladder. :-)
Rog RJ
It's a hard decision to make. The loft can be too cold in winter and roasting hot in summer unless it's well insulated and ventilated. One plus point is that it's usually dark or you can make it dark, which helps to stop models from fading. The conservatory can also be too hot in the summer and quite cold in winter but the biggest problem would be the strong sunlight causing fading unless you keep everything covered.-
bocaj
It depends,Have you got you're loft converted like me?If you have the loft could be the place with lots of room and storage space. If you have not go for the Conservertry. This will provide you with problems as you will need to have a secure house as if someone likes the look of it and decides that it could be worth alot of money. You could wake up to find you're Railway is gone. (the loco's at least)

Brightstar
Fences are no deterrent. The thieves jumprd/climbed over the 6' garden fence, then the 6' panel fence surrounding the touring caravsn, broke in by levering the door frame and stole the awning. The curtains of the caravan were drawn so you could not look inside. For security the loft is your best bet, but for easy access choose the conservatory, but make sure it is secure and not easliy viewable from outside of the property. bocaj
I think you can get small spickes that go on the top of the fence to stop people climbing over fences.
walkingthedog
Is the conservatory used for anything else. If people sit in it they might get in your way, or you might get in theirs. If the loft is suitable, the layout is out of harms way.
TATICMOOR
Use you spare bed room, if you have one.
bocaj
Yes spare bedrooms are good for layouts, if the loft was not ocupied by me their would be a huge layout in there. It's good having a layout up there though
