thirdline
I'm considering detailing my Railroad Gresley Teak coaches, was there a standard convention on seat colours I.e. red for first and blue for second maybe? I might do my blood and custards as well as my LNER teaks, if so would the same convention apply. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
LCDR
Railway Carriage Seat covering is quite often a special cloth called Moquette and was usually patterned. There was no particular colour convention although coincidentally in early BR days red tended to be third class and blue first. LNER patterns and colours are not known to me but Southern and BR schemes can be seen here -http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/cw/moquette/
LCDR
It is also worth considering that in some vehicles the LNER used a leather like material called Rexine, and may have used this or something similar to cover seats, but it is not a topic I have detailed knowledge about.
