GECX 2029
Does anyone know if a Hornby TTS Class 66 sound decoder will work with a Bachmann Class 66? as I'm considering in ordering the Sound chip for my 66 but I'm not too Sure if one would work or not.And I've also been taking me buying a DCC Select controller into consideration but I'm also not too sure if my 66 would work with it aswell. Triumph speedtriple
OK the Bachmann 66 comes in 8 pin and 21 pin. I fitted an a TTS into an old 8 pin 66 so no adapter needed, however I had to change the motor algorithm.
96RAF
The Select will operate all 29 functions on a TTS decoder if it has recent firmware I.e. v1.5 or better. You can get the update done by Hornby if required on a second hand or old stock Select. If your Bachmann loco has a 21 pin socket you can get 21-8 pin adaptors. ColinB
I have actually done this with one of my Bachmann class 66s. You need to buy a 21 pin to 8 pin converter. I cannot remember if I had to change the speaker, but I think I used the original Hornby one. Seeing as the TTS is a Hornby product, I assume it must work with Select and Elite. I use an Elite and it works perfectly. On some Bachmanns there is not enough room above the 21 pin socket to fit the 21 pin to 8 pin decoder, but this one was OK.
