One incomplete sentence is just not enough information to understand exactly what the issue is.

.

Looking at your other post, you also seem to have both an Elite and a Select controller.

.

As your issue is not clear, then it may be that your issue is the same or similar to a previously discussed R8216 issue. Click this link to see the search results from the Hornby forum for an R8216

.

If your issue is that you cannot write CV to your R8216 using RailMaster when the R8216 is connected to the RailMaster controller 'programming' output. Then be aware of these product limitations.

.

Firstly the R8216 needs to be pre-charged on the main controller TRACK A&B output for a minute to charge up the internal CDU capacitors before connecting it to the 'PROG A&B' output to write CVs. This means working quickly to swap wires over on the controller terminals before the capacitor charge dissipates.

.

Secondly, the R8216 needs a solenoid point motor attached to port 1 when writing a CV. This is anecdotal as no written manual instruction can be found that confirms this statement.

.

Thirdly, It is not possible to read CV values on the R8216, this is a product hardware limitation. The R8216 only supports 'Reg (Register) Mode' programming, which means that the CVs can only be written to, and not read.

.

These limitations plus many others is why the R8216 was quickly made obsolete and replaced by the later R8247.

.

If your issue is that your previously configured the R8216 using the Select and the R8216 won't operate using RailMaster. Then you need to reprogramme the R8216 again using the RailMaster Accessory Decoder programming screen. The early firmware version Selects used a slightly different method for controlling Accessory Decoders not compatible with RailMaster. If your Select is at firmware revision 1.3 or higher, then this is unlikely to be your issue.

.
