FinnerZ
A couple of weeks before Easter I got a Hornby Elite as a part of a package from a company called 'Jadlam Racing Models', new, complete with box and packaging. On my second day using it, the red plastic clip on the 'track' outlet snapped just inside the controller, meaning there is now no longer a spring to hold the wire in place. As I haven't actually been able to use my layout since then (doing my GCSEs), I haven't had a chance to find a good solution. So far the only thing I have been able to do is use one of the connectors used for hornby switches as this is too wide to fall out. Does anyone have any suggestions on a better solution - I am loathed to send back my beloved Elite as everything else works perfectly and I may already be too late. Gregd99
I think that you need to send it back.the terminal should not have snapped off in normal usage.Contact Hornby Customer Care via this web-site to confirm.Greg
Rog RJ
The first thing to do is contact the retailer, Jadlam Racing. It's their responsibility under the sale of gods act.
poliss
Contact Jadlam Racing. It's their responsibility, not Hornby's. For the first six months after purchase it will be for the retailer to prove the goods did conform to contract (e.g. were not inherently faulty)Is the sale of gods act written in tablets of stone Rog? :-)

trainlover23
Also replace it with R8242 a DIGITAL POWER CLIP. they are far far better than the terminal track and more versitile. All this fuss.
FinnerZ
Sorry trainlover23, I meant the actual red clip on the back of my elite unit. I agree with you about the power track - mine came unsoldered from the rails.
