Choobacca
I'd like to see more wagons with special fuctions such as Tipping wagons.Tipping wagons:http://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/6622883385/More Tipping wagons:http://www.flickr.com/photos/39245032@N08/5128462027/Tippler:http://www.flickr.com/photos/stopem/105442622/Mermaid Tipping wagon:http://www.flickr.com/photos/dan700/6118416548/
LCDR
The first type illustrated, 'V' skip tippers, were commonly used in mines and quarries, Hudsons of Leeds specialised in them, but none (well practically none) ever operated on the mainline railway. As the RTR manufacturers shun industrial railway stuff (other than main line locos in industrial colours) I very much doubt any will appear (which in my opinion is a pity). The old 'Tri-ang Big Big Train' had them and Hornby 'O' clockwork too (lettered Hudson), but no-one makes them in OO. To the best of my knowledge the only 'V' skip side tippers that did operate on the main line were a small fleet owned by Sheffield Corporation who took sewage sludge over the former Great Central line between Tinsley Blackburn Meadows to Rotherham Thrybergh Tip. The LNER / BR Eastern Region hauled them with a BR brake van on the back. The guard's job was undoubtedly not a favourite! I think the passengers waiting on Rotherham Central might try and avoid standing too close when a train was due! One of these wagons is preserved at the Middleton Railway in Leeds.THe 'Mermaid' ballast wagon would make a delightful model. I have a couple of the Cambrian Kits as yet unmade, but a RTR one might be very popular.
