Building stickers need replacing

Recommended Posts

Subject to what drawing software you have on your PC, then with a little artistic flair you should be able to draw and print off your own replacements. You can buy A4 sheets of sticky backed glossy paper if you don't want to use standard printer paper and glue.

.

The original Hornby artwork as G.S says have never been produced by Hornby for resale.

Sometimes the Hornby sheets come up on eBay, etc.

As most buildings have both brick and stone sheets included, I believe, the "spare" sheets come up for sale occasionally...

You could also use brick and tile papers to re cover the plastic building shells.

Superquick and Metcalfe amongst others make printed sheets.

There are also "Print at home" downloads from various sources...

Examples...

All my shops have custom made shop signs. They are named after my grandchildren and the garage is my daughter's buusness in real life. The off licence is in my name. The phone numbers have a made up  area code with home number added. I made these on my computer using draw in Word.

I'll post pictures later and a narrative on how it was done. Mind are 00 gauge but I belonged to a club which was N gauge and I rescaled them for that. Will post later.

You can find all sorts of old signs on line for download. You set you printer zoom level to suit and print as others have said on sticky paper or good quality photo paper, cut out and stick on.

i also have sheets of them presented with model railway mags.
