Select firmware 2.0

Hi.

Ive Just purchased a select controller and was hoping it came with the latest firmware1.6 but on booting up the number starts 20 30 03 can anybody confirm if it is the very latest firmware, i cant find any info relating to firmware above 1.6. Thanks just stepping up to the world of dcc.

Firmware 1.6 and firmware 2.0 are one and the same. In essence, your Select showing 20 [2.0] on boot up is indeed as good as 16 [1.6].

Why does the Select show 20 and not 16, you ask.

The Select hardware has had a very slight appearance revamp in this latest factory production run. Hornby have decided to name the firmware in this new revamped Select as 20 rather than 16 so that it then indicates that the Select is the latest new physical model. Thus it is actually better than the Select 16 model you were hoping for.

As a result of the above statement, all documentation that relates to version 1.6 is applicable to version 2.0 too.

If you go to the Select Manual download page, you will find this statement (highlighted in yellow below).

Thank you for answering the query you've explained it perfectly, that explains why the 1.6 addendum leaflet came with it.
