Andy P.
Hi ThereThe "Test Track" forum is for the Official Scalextric Trest Track Blog (Vlog). I moved the thread to here.Tire (tyre) truing: This is by for (in my opinion) the best possible thing you can do to your car to get it to handle better. .For relatively new tires I personally start with 240 and continue you go finer all the way up to 2000 (thousand) grit wet/dry.If the tires look really tired (see what I did there?) or out of round I may go to 150 grit to get them smoother and then keep going finer. If you want to smooth out tires that have a thread/tread you may also want to start with 150 grit as well.I personally use water as I have overheated tires in the past.I never hold the tires to the sand paper for more than a 2 or 3 seconds. I "bounce" them in a slow rhythm not putting any force on the tires as that could stress the motor as well. You know you are getting them just right when you see a lighter colored patch appear that is even and across the whole surface of the tire.Once you true them use tape to clean them off and repeat cleaning the tires after about 5 laps. All the other tips Gary points out are also very good.Let us know how you get along!
