Sootei
Any body had problems with Hornby Steam oo Gauge engines front wheels coming off the track when on taking corners. My Tornado and Cock of the North have now taken to having the front bogies come off the track when coming round the left hand large raidius curve.I am at a loss to why they have started to do this i Have checked the track and it seems fine Am i Missing something? Going Spare
Check that the bogies/pony trucks are able to pivot sideways smoothly and to the full extent of their travel and that they are sitting on the rails with sufficient downforce rather than 'floating'. atom3624
Simple answer to OP - YES! As GS mentioned, check they pivot OK, and move freely. Other things as follows:Check the B2B - 'back to back' - there are fixed gauges but the distance between the insides of the wheels should be 14.5mm +/- a smal smidgen.Check the bogie mounting bracket screws are tightened - 'nipped up - not hard, just normal. If both of the above are OK, then it's possibly necessary to SLIGHTLY adjust the weight on the bogie / wheels, onto the track - crude as it sounds, it works. This is done by very slightly bending the bogie moounting bracket towards the track, giving slightly more weight onto the wheels / ensuring they are located onto the track. Normally when placing onto the track, I like to see the bogie wheels fully on the track just before the rest of the locomotive.CAUTION: Adjusting weight should only very slight else you will remove traction from the driven wheels.Hope this helps.
