DoubleD
Thanks RatchI wasn't too sure of the name of the green colour but you have covered everything I need
Ratch
In fact, B.R. locomotives were not painted Brunswick Green, as is often incorrectly stated, (This had been the livery of the old Great Western Railway). But were in fact painted in British Standards:BS224 "Deep Bronze Green" also known as: "Land Rover Deep Bronze Green LR001" with orange and black lining, but its close enough for me. Kenneth ONeill
There are several "Battle of Britain" class in preservation. A web search will find them. Yes, the Dapol (ex Airfix) locos have BR schemes, but early examples would be Southern Railway rather than "Goes to Wales Railway" green.
DoubleD
Thanks for this - I went for ''Brunswick Green '' in the end as I am not really a fan of pre-grouping colour schemes
Dad Paul B
I have fond memories of building this one back in the 70s. I would love to see some photos of the finished product.
DoubleD
I have been trying to send photos Paul - but I keep getting Error message 403 when I try - a problem noted elsewhere in the forumOnce this problem is resolved I will post a couple of pictures
DoubleD
Here we go Paul - it was the first model that I tried using my new airbrush onIt's OK as long as you follow social distancing guidelines and don't get close than 2 metres 😀/media/tinymce_upload/31ebe9128d009dddf6edda0f358db86b.jpg
Kenneth ONeill
Looks good.As an aside, if you get a bottle of Clearfix and a cocktail stick, you can glaze the cab windscreens and side windows with that.
DoubleD
Thanks Paul - I'll give that a go - I was thinking of getting the Railbus and Deltic models and I believe that they don't have windows in as well
Kenneth ONeill
The railbus has full glazing, but no interior other than the floor. The Deltic is the prototype (different ends and side detail to a production locomotive) and has adequate cab detail but no engine room detail, and no glazing. Dapol report this runner as "lost" and sometimes include a piece of clear plastic sheet.
