Hi I have just been given a 2001 year model golden plover  I hink it was hornby r1024. Its in immaculate condition and still runs on an analogue track would it be easy and worthwhile upgrading it to dcc, it is not dcc ready  it has a ringfield motor attached are some more details.

I would like to convert it but seeking advice first on how easy  it would be I cant find any info on how to do it. Thanks again this is a great place for help for newbies like me./media/tinymce_upload/a8b2d1a5e80ed14f6b093d706d3fa978.jpg/media/tinymce_upload/0623bce22430baa952af8f4213c49786.jpg

You will see from Brian Lambert that Ringfields are different and some harder to convert than others due to some having the LH motor brush holder connected to tender chassis. You need to double check this with yours, blown decoder is the result if you get it wrong, but the fact there are wires coming from both brush holders implies the chassis connection is not present (wire not needed if it is connnected to chassis).
