Casino
HiHope someone will be able to give me advice but in very simplistic terms as very new to this interesting if not frustrating hobby.I have bought all extensions a, b, c, d, e, f and all works well when running on independent tracks. You can all guess whats coming next!!I have had limited success with the one link wire I have but I hit dead track on parts of the layout. Can anyone explain or show where I need to fit the link wire or wires so the circuits complete. The track is the hornby trackmat (the bigger one)I have also tried insolating the cross over point to the 2nd track but that is a bit hit and miss. At times it works but other times stops on the points. I have read and reread the guide to getting started and a great help it was but appear to have hit a brick tunnel.Sorry for the long post but it now keeping me awake at night!!!!Thanks in advance.. Chrissaf
If you have been following my guide and following it to the letter, then if you are still having power issues. Either something you have done has been done incorrectly, or there is a poor connection somewhere. For me to offer tailored guidance over and above the content of my downloaded document, then you will need to provide drawings that show and annotate your issue with greater clarity. Such as; what is connected where wiring wise, the point positions (what routes are set) when power is lost. Where the power failures are on the layout (what track sections lose power) and where are the locos when they stop..Also, it is not clear from your question whether you are using one single controller for the whole A to F layout or more than one controller (two??). Please confirm this in the reply with the drawing detail..If the locos always stop on the points then it may be the locos and their electrical pickups at fault and not the track and power. Also make special care to ensure that you are connecting the wires on the link wires the right way round. Reversing the wires can cause a 'short circuit' which will cut power..See TIP8 in my TIPs page below regarding how to post images..TIP: As a newbie poster on the forum, just be aware that the 'Blue Button with the White Arrow' is not a 'Reply to this post' button.
