regal
Hi...I'm new to this hobby and recently introduced myself to the Forum. Rather old ( 83 ) but can call upon a working life in aviation inc RAF service, so I'm determined to make a good job of this Valiant, particularly since I spent a lot of time servicing them in the early 1960's.I was with 7 Squadron ( RAF Wittering ), and would like to finish the model in their livery. The kit has the squadron tail emblem and aircraft number for 49 Squadron...is it possible to get same deails for 7 Squadron ......eg WD826 and the 'ursa major' seven star tail fin emblem ? Also, could you advise me of the appropriate main colour for the model. The aicraft were painted anti-flash white ( we used to clean them.)...would this correspond to a matt or satin model finish ?There may be other daft questions further down the build, all advice appreciatedThanks Al
Ratch
Hi Al, aircraft that flew from Wittering are of interest to me too as it was in Northamptonshire until the late 60 when it was passed over to Cambs.AirDecal Sheet 7217 has (amongst others) XD826 B(K)1 7 Sqn RAF Honington 1957 on it. I acquired the sheet a few years ago now from Hannants. You might look there for it.
peebeep
Contact Fantasy Printshop Decals, they have the Freightdog sheets of pale blue or black codes/serials. I can't really help with the badge, although I have a vague recollection of seeing one on a Canberra sheet. How about having a go at painting onto some clear decal film?
