Track Layout

I am planning a model railway. I have designed a track layout to suit the shape and space available. It contains several reverse loops. Is there anyone who can tell me if this layout will work or is totally impractiical? I can email a scanned attachment. Thanks.

There is no 'Private Messaging' on this forum and there is a 'forum rule' that disallows members posting personal contact information. This means that you cannot email your document to another member via this forum.

.

You can however, post a link to an 'image hosting site' where your scanned image can be viewed OR you can post the image directly in this thread (note however that the image will be held back for approval by Hornby admin staff and might take a few days to appear). Read TIP 8 in my TIPs link further below regarding the supported process for publishing an image.

.

The approach to supporting 'Reverse Loops' is different, subject to whether the layout is going to be a DC Analogue Layout or a DCC Digital one and you haven't given a clue as to what layout type you are proposing.

.

For DCC Layouts I have written a 30 odd page 'How To' PDF tutorial. You can download it on the link below:

.

If you post an image of your proposed layout, then I would be in a position to provide further guidance. Please state whether your proposed layout will be DC or DCC controlled.

.

TIP: As a newbie poster on the forum, just be aware that the 'Blue Button with the White Arrow' is not a 'Reply to this post' button. If you want to reply to any of the posts, scroll down and write your reply in the reply text box at the bottom of the page and click the Green 'Reply' button.

Maybe post an image on here of your track / layout plan - we are not allowed to share personal information on the Forum. I'm sure @Chrissaf will reply with some information about how to use the forum correctly - and presumably how to post an image, this would be more helpful to us than describing your whole entire layout.

"A picture speaks a thousand words."

It would also be easier for us forum members to refer to an image when answering your questions and concerns - rather than reading through rows of text over and over again.

(P.S I had already started to write this post, and by the time I had finished, Chris beat me to it. Hence why my reply is after Chris'. I was expecting my post to be finished and posted before Chris posted his usual newbie forum member info, otherwise I would not have bothered writing duplicated information.)
