Cliverdee
Hi anyone had a problem with the fit of the rudder to the tail fin on the Airfix 1:72 Warhawk .. the rudder fits snugly to the fin but there are two tabs that show as fitting into recesses in the tailplane but can't fit as the rudder is right up to the fin top to bottom. This leaves 2 large gaps in the rudder that dont look at all right ... can't get pics to load up on the site anymore so just my description of the issue I'm afraid. Am I missing something ? Thanks
T2B
Hi Cliverdee, I can't get to any images at the moment but I think the gaps are accurate, I have them on my 3 P-40 builds. Check the forum for other P-40 build threads!
peebeep
There should be a gap at elevator level and at the lower hinge point.
Cliverdee
There should be a gap at elevator level and at the lower hinge point.Yes, thanks.. the gap I had at the elevator level was about 1mm which looked out of scale so I've filled it a bit. I raised the question to see if it was a known moulding/ design issue or just me not getting the build right. thanks again
peebeep
No filling required, you can see all the way through on the real thing and it’s a big gap. Airfix have it right.
