Bighandz
I was just wondering whether anybody could give me a bit of guidance.I have just bought a secondhand Eurostar set and I am also looking for a virgin Pendolino set. Both of these sets appear to come with two coaches. I am looking to add 2 additional coaches to each. Can anybody advise me of the relevant part numbers.i am almost certain these numbers will be marked on the coaches I have but I am visually impaired and can not see them.many thanks in anticipation of your help. atom3624
Try this page. You will probably have to make more 'Google enquiries' to clarify the acronyms, and which Hornby coach corresponds. https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail.aspx?id=526 Al. Going Spare
The centre coaches, 2 in a pack, to make the Eurostar a 6-coach unit, were sold in packs R4013, R4013A, R4013B and R4013C between 1997 and 2010. Genuine packs are rather scarce: beware some packs on sale purporting to be the 'Divisible Centre Saloons' as they are called actually contain coaches from the original 4-car train packs or sets and do not have the right couplings to be inserted into the centre of those 4-car units. The correct divisible coaches have windows along their full length rather than large grills at one end.Additional coaches for the Pendolino will depend upon the livery of the 4-car train you buy initially - either Virgin or Virgin/Alstom. Coaches in Virgin livery are R4271 and R4271A with a pantograph, R4272 and R4272A trailer open standard and R4274A to D motor open standard. I am not aware of any additional coaches having produced in the Virgin/Alstom livery.
Bighandz
Thank you both for the help.Going Spare, thanks for the heads up on the 'slightly less than genuine' coaches. I think I have spotted a few of those on a certain un-named auction site.with regards to the 2 types of pendolino, I think I have seen both. Whilst the Alstom looks better I think I may be better getting the standard livery.again, thank you both.
