Westwonic
I recently purchased a Class 43 HST Network Rail 'improving your railway,' loco set, and find that one headlight on both power and dummy cars does not work.I first noticed the fault when running in on DC, and have the same issue when tried on DCC after fitting a TTS decoder to the dummy car.Does anyone know if this is by design or is it a fault? Puffed Out
Have you checked the wiring to the bulb/bulbs.? Common fault and easily fixed.
GWR 14xx Tank
Is the light blown? Try removing it and placing it across a 9v battery, and then try the other one that does work. If the faulty one lights, then there is a problem with the wiring / connections to the light when fitted to the locomotive.
Stubaggieboy
This is obviously a super detailed loco so I would check the contacts on the chassis are making with the wipers on the body, especially as you say you have removed the body to fit decoder. If it's new then ask for replacement. Regards Stu.
96RAF
Be wary about placing a battery potential across any lights direct as most leds have their current limiting resistors on the main PCB in the loco and testing the leds stand alone in the body will kill them stone dead. Been there, done that, got the added hassle of replacing smd leds in a hard to remove desk unit.
GWR 14xx Tank
Sorry about that @RAF96, knew there was something missing from that post. Feel free to delete the post if people are going to be misled by my stupidity.

Going Spare
A little lateral thinking: as this is a bang-up-to-date unit, are two running lights still used? [Living in an area populated entirely by emus, seeing a loco is very much a novelty.]
