Millsy1707819711
Hello All, I am a younger Modern Era collector and modeller and have recently aquired the Colas Rail livered Class 67(027) - Charlotte.I am looking to model a NetWork Rail train and was hoping to do so as accuratley as possible. I am aware that commonly the class 67's are used on the MENTOR trains, unfortunately there isn't a Pantograph Overhead line Inspection Carrige yet. HOWEVER, in the video linked below, the train which passes contains multiple different coaches as well as the overhead line inspection coach. Hornby currently have a few NetWork rail coaches due to release next month avalible to preorder and before I do preorder them, I just wanted to confirm they were 100% the same type (not worried about numbers) featured in that video. If anyone can confirm that the coaches due to release are indeed the same ones see in the video I would be eternally greatful.Kind regards,Millsy
Millsy1707819711
One more question to Burden everyone with, would it be accurate and up to date to run the NetWork Rail Super GUV ADB QAA With the MENTOR train? Thanks in Advance! Millsy
AndyMac1707817969
Not sure exactly what coaches are on this train, one appears to be Hornby R4928 PLPR Track Inspection Coach released last year. Network rail coaches like any other specialist coaches are always just approximations that can be made from a repainted production coach. Often Network Rail coaches are highly customised and it would need an entirely new mould to produce them accurately so the best you can ever hope for from Hornby is an approximation. Normally windows just have a blanking plate fitted and what are normally freight wagons would just be repaints and not have things like corridor connectors fitted that would have been added for work trains. The chances of seeing any overheard inspection coach with pantograph from Hornby is probably zero. In the years they have been producing the HST Measurement Trains they have never bothered to produce any coach with a pantograph. You may see it sooner or later from some more specialist manufacturer but I doubt Hornby will produce one
AndyMac1707817969
First Coach 9523 MK2F Brake standard open, Hornby due to release this coach with this number but in Virgin Trains livery, nearest available match may be the yet to be released R4992 Mk2D Support Coach, 9481 but with artist impression images of just the one side so far released (not the side you can see in the video). Second coach Hornby R4928 PLPR Track Inspection Coach released last year Third Coach MK2F Radio Survey Test Train Coach, 977997, released by Hornby last year as R4901 As with any work train the exact composition of coaches is likely to vary depending on what caiches are available and the exact job the train is required to do

AndyMac1707817969
Britannia Models are the only people that do any test coach such as Mentor with a pantograph http://britanniapacific.co.uk/Depart%20Mentor.htm You do see custom built ones come up on eBay from time to time. As to the accuracy of what type of pantograph fitted I have no idea.
