"403 Forbidden" error message

Some members may or may not be experiencing "403 Forbidden" error messages when trying to post clickable URL links in posts.

.

Just to be aware that Hornby Admin are aware of this issue and looking into it.

.

Just to gauge how widespread this issue is, it would be useful if affected members could post a simple 'me too' post in this thread.

Rather than say " it makes you want to... etc " Why are you Moderators not pressing harder on Hornby IT to correct the problem?  They caused it in the first place.  I know owning and running a forum is a major task, I do it daily!!

Daily updates on correction status are need and their action plan too, if the forum is to return to normal and not have issues with images or URLs etc.   Its beginning to show how little Hornby care otherwise!  These users are their customers!  😮

Come on Moderators get together and send to who ever at Hornby, daily messages from each of you asking for it to be corrected!  😆

Oddly Brian we have already made repeated requests to IT over the past two weeks since this fault was reported, both as a group and individually to report certain posts. We do not just sit around drinking tea.

You will never get an action plan out of Hornby.

The head banging bit was aimed at the members not at the forum status.

Brian.

I have already escalated twice, each escalation to a subsequent higher level. And I know that Rob has also chased Hornby himself too. I am still waiting for some response to my second higher level escalation [sent yesterday]. The ComMods are proactive and do chase issues both as a group and also at an individual level, the fixing delays are not of our making. The forum is 'outsourced' by Hornby to a software house web hosting company and do not fix software issues 'in-house'.

.

EDIT: Again, Rob has beaten me to the draw.

Well done guys.  Just what is needed  😀

Now you have explained what is happening behind the scenes its a lot clearer.

IMO If Hornby out-shop their IT needs, then the people/company undertaking this need a good awaking/kicking, as they are being paid to undertake and correct poor IT work.

Thanks anyway for the information, its good to know tea isn't being drunk 24/7.  Only every other hour  😉

As at 14:30 today THURSDAY 3rd September.

.

The clickable URL and Image posting BUG appears to be fixed. I have just posted two test posts, one for an image and one for a clickable URL and both were successful. This does not however guarantee that the issue will remain fixed for the long term.
