and70
class 37 r348 body can you fit another body from other 37 model
Going Spare
Yes, provided it comes from another Hornby Ringfield-motored locomotive - i.e. the body clips to the chassis by way of four lugs at the bottom of each cab door. Earlier Tri-ang Hornby models also had a fixing in the four-character headcode at one end. Railroad-series model bodies may also be possible but as these use Lima tooling, I do not know whether it would be a direct swop or need slight modification. 81F
Just checking, does anyone know if is this loco derived from the original Hornby/Triang version or the LIMA model since lima were purchased by Hornby as this could either open up more possibilities or hinder progress? Going Spare
R348 is a traditional Ringfield-motored Hornby class 37 dating from the late 1980s and therefore preceding Hornby's takeover of Lima by around 15 years. However, it is not the same as the original Tri-ang Hornby class 37, dating back to 1966, with a twin-worm drive bogie.
