Kevin Hodges
Hi Rob, I just caught the Scalextric bug. Had no idea you lurked around here. See you back in the Hornby forum. Cheers, Kev. 😀
96RAF
Just baby sitting the forum for Andy while he is away Kevin. 50 years since I hand built 1/32 scale brass chassis.
Kevin Hodges
Are you still active with Scalextric Rob or just here to sit in for Andy ? Like my age old passion for Hornby trains, I also had a Scalextric set back in the 60s. I'm reliving my childhood ! This lockdown is really putting a dent in both my wallet and available space! Cheers mate, Kev.
96RAF
May as well keep this side thread going seeing as the OP has been moved. Andy can bin it when he gets back and has had a read. No more slot cars for me Kevin. I started as an Airfix man in those days as Scalextric were too toy like for me and then I went on to hand built flexi, sidwinder, floating, etc chassis, not the clip in plastic stuff. I was in the RAF in Cyprus at the time - 1965-68 and a member of BISMARC - British Inter Services Model Auto Racing Club, with a very large layout in a rented bungalow in Limassol. We even held a 24-Hour race one year. Good days long gone. My 50+ year old son has taken on the slot car role, with a loft layout and more cars than eBay. Kevin Hodges
I must admit Rob, I'm more a train buff than cars. Just another toy from my 60s childhood to muck around with 😀 This is a great forum with friendly, helpful people. Cheers Kev.
