ColinB
Has anyone had issues with the sound out of a TTS decoder being distorted. I bought a P2 TTS decoder about a year ago, it made sounds so I was happy. Fast forward about a year and I have bought very many TTS decoders. So when I was testing out the P2 I suddenly thought that the sound was a bit distorted. So I changed the speaker to an ICE cube and it sounded a bit better but still not that good. Anyway Amazon were doing the P2 TTS decoder really cheap (£32=00) so I thought I would buy one just to check. Sure enough the new one is perfect even more so seeing as it now has a really decent speaker. Does anyone know if the old one is fixable? I cannot return it on the Hornby guarantee as I am sure it is over a year old. I know roughly how they work but as to the actual circuit I haven't got a clue, plus I probably would not be able to see the component. If not I suppose I could use it as a DCC decoder. I am so used to them blowing up, having something like this is something very new.
ColinB
As a follow up I was trying to find out when I bought this decoder. It appears the original had no sound at all, I returned it to Hornby and this is the replacement. Surprisingly, it is just about a year old. 96RAF
Is there a suggested alternative to the P2 tts decoder HM7000-TXS decoder. Load it with the P2 sound yourself.
