MattA Posted September 2, 2020 Share Posted September 2, 2020 Hi just looking for a bit of advise i am thinking of buying the bachmann intercity 37/5 locomotive to put on to my track at present i only have hornby locomotives and the elite controller. Chrissaf Posted September 2, 2020 Share Posted September 2, 2020 As long as the Bachmann Intercity is fitted with a supported decoder (it does not have to be a Hornby decoder) then it will work with an Elite. ColinB Posted September 2, 2020 Share Posted September 2, 2020 No problem, I have exactly that setup. The Bachmann class 37s are brilliant. You will need a 21 pin decoder, if you are thinking of fitting a TTS decoder you have to "hard wire" the 8 wires to a 21 pin adapter, there is not enough headroom to fit a 21 pin to 8 pin converter (some people say there is, but in my experience there isn't) which stops the body sitting nicely and stops the lights working.
