Kevin Hodges
I recently bought a Scalextric DB5 (Black) model number C4029 It says on the display case DPR. I tried to open it up, but there is wiring that prevents seperating the body from the chassis. I had a peek inside, but cannot see any DPR going on. I don't want to break anything. Any help appreciated. The digital plug I bought is the Easyfit C8515 Kev.
Andy P.
Oh dear...DPR cars have a small hatch with one screw to put in the plug. You nromally don't need to remove the body to change it.I google your car and found this:https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/aston-martin-db5-black.html"Please note: The box and previous catalogue incorrectly state that this car is DPR Ready. Unfortunately it is not DPR Ready, we apologise for any inconvenience caused."So I guess it is not DPR after all. You could use a C7005 and solder it in though... Kevin Hodges
Thanks Andy, Funny thing, I have converted many old Hornby locos to DCC, but I don't feel confident tinkering with these cars. I knew enough to leave well alone. It's such a beautiful model that I'll just leave her analogue. I have another car that definately is DPR ready so I will install it in that. Kev.
