James Bisley
Hello, I would just like some help on options for my model. I decided to have the wheels down for practicality, and then decided to have everything 'open' as if for maintenance. However, I annoyingly put the pilot in way back in the early stages, so this isn't realistic. I would like to fit the bombs, so I wondered if I could make it as being before taking off.I had planned to have the flaps down but havent actually fitted them yet. Would they be up or down before taking off? (Excuse my utter ignorance and idiocy)Also, does anyone have any idea what the difference is between the two types of rear gunner nacelle? One is a lower profile than the other. Thanks
peebeep
15° of flap for take off with bombs. The turret could be raised or lowered, for take off I would guess the lowered, less draggy option would be used.
James Bisley
Thanks very muchIll probably just put the flaps open in their default angle 🤔 😀Also, its too late to amend now, but what is the exact purpose of the flaps behind the engine and at what stages would they be open or closed? peebeep
The cowling gills are used to regulate airflow around the engine and thus the engine temperature. They're most likely to be open with engines running and the aircraft on the ground. Depending on external temperatures they might be opened in flight. T2B
The turret on the Blenheim can be semi retracted to reduce drag hence the 2 different canopy parts, the lowered position would be used in optimal cruise mode and friendly areas (therefore probably during take-off) and raised when in the combat area!
