skinnymalinky
I'm about to start building 1/700 Penelope which my father-in-law served on during WW2, apart from looking quite daunting 😮 and so many tiny parts I'd like to ask a question about the ships colours & decking. The only Martime ship I've built was a 1/700 Titanic, I swore a few times but persevered and I was quite happy with the outcome.I want to use the colours or similar to when it was HMS Penelope was serving in the Med' & Malta which is when he was on the ship, not the camo' colours used in the Norway Campaign. What would be the shades of grey used maily used on the ship/gun turrets/barrels or would it be one grey from top to bottom?Decking, I've seen a image of the same scale of the ship with wood decking. I'm not too sure if I like it too much, the planks seemed too wide for the scale of the ship, painting the plastic decking on the ship would that also be a grey shade or tan colour? Thanks
